Twinkly Christmas

Hello to all my fellow crafters,

just had to ink up this lovely James snowman stamp that I got from LOTV ready for their latest challenge. Anything Goes.

I just had to use my favourite christmas sentiment stamps and chose Twinkley Christmas as it is my favorite.

The papers are Twas the night by LOTV and I have coloured the image with Spectrum noir pens and added snowflakes and lots of stickles.

I embossed the background to make the image stand out better with a snowflake embossing folder and the snowflakes are from a die set from spellbinders.

Another one to tick off my list and I can even enter it as my last entry into the LOTV challenge.
Wish me luck and happy crafting.

Best wishes Maria

Carol Singers

Hello again
Just popped by to show you a christmas card that I have just finished and added to my pile.  It is using the stamp Carol singers by Lilli of the valley and also one of their paper pads, frosty christmas.

The backing dies are from Spellbinders as are the snowflakes, and as usual I have coloured the image with my spectrum noir Pens.

To add a little dimension I fussy cut the image and added it on foam pads, then finished it all off with some stardust stickles an a few jewels. Well it is a Christmas card, so it has to have stickles now doesn't it.

Finally I mounted it on a rectangular card base and added a greeting cut from a memory box die.

Hope you like it, I just love this blue paper so had to color an image in the blues to match.

Birthday Tweetings

Hello all

Just thought I would share a birthday card with you, just to give us a break from all those Christmas cards I still have to make.

The Paper is LOTV and is a mix of two pads, Bonnett and Bowties and Promises and you will I am sure recognise the stamp. It was very apt as the lady it is going to is addicted to her I pad so I couldn't resist inking him up again,

Some little finishing touches such as the die cut flowers and the circular Happy birthday sign

Some pink gems to the flower centers to add a little sparkle.
I made a coordinating envelope to post it in.

Please  drop me a line and let me know what you think. I would love to know.

Noel

Hi again
Here is the last in the set of decorations I have been making.

I started with a very cheap MDF  Noel frame from a craft store, I think it was about £2, and I started by painting it with gold acrylic, then then a coat of PDA glue, allowed to dry untill it is just tacky, then a coat of white acrylic which I dried with my heat gun.  It produces the most amazing crackle glaze. I finished it off with some pearlised glaze to make it sparkle and shine and match the door hangers.

Finally I hand cut this little pair of robins nestled on a holly branch and glued it over the N
The snow banner is all sparkley too although it doesn't show too well in the photo.

I added a Sparkly hand cut Poinsettia from one of the other Christmas village papers and a snow banner to the O. I finished it with a couple of pictures of children having fun sledging in the snow.

It is all ready now for it's pride of place on my hall table.

Hope you like it and it gives you a few ideas.

Bye for now
Maria

I belive in Santa

Hello everyone

This is the second door hanger that I have made.

This time I used a dark brown paint underneath the white when I did the crackle glaze so that it was more prominent. To finish it off I added a Pearlised glaze to made it shine although it doesn't show up too well in the photo

I used the first edition Christmas village paper again and the die cuts were from the romantic rectangles by spellbinders the touch of glitter on the rectangles and diamonds is stickles stardust.

Flowers are again from Ribbon girl and as it is one of the first times I have used flowers on a christmas project and I am relieved it has turned out so well

I just love this picture of a jolly vintage santa and thought it was just right to complete my hanger. Just can't wait for christmas now.

Bye for now

Winter Wonderland

Hello to all my fellow crafters
Just poped by to show you my latest project, it is a door christmas door hanger for my hallway.

It started life as a plain balsa wood hanger, blank ready for decoration, but as I wanted a kind of shabby chic vintage look I applied a simple crackle glaze paint effect with some acrylic paint in white and gold, ageing the sides with some Tim Holtz distress inks in Tea die and black soot.

The flowers are from ribbon girl , I have been looking for a project to use those rose hips on for ages

My snowflakes are cut from a spellbinders die as is the mount of the picture, which is cut from a section of paper from first edition called Christmas village.  I have used it to decorate a few items before and it looks really vintage so was just right for this Project.

My winder wonderland banner was cut from the same papers as was the snow one and I added lots of stickles in stardust to the flowers and the snowflakes.

Finally I glued on a contrasting posy of flowers to the bottom left corner to ballance it out and curled all the spare strands of wire of the flowers.
I was really pleased with how the paint effect worked, you can just see the gold peeking through the white and it was so easy and cheap to do.
Please let me know what you think, I will post some other matching decorations soon using the same idea.

Best wishes and happy crafting from Maria

A Time For Giving

Hello everyone, I hope you have not been getting too wet in the recent showers.  Here in Devon we have been suffering from bad storms, the worst of which was on Sunday and woke us in the early hours of the morning with the most amazing claps of thunder and flashes of lightning, directly overhead. It was so loud that it set off most of the house alarms in our street waking most of our neighbors.  We actually thought it had struck us as it knocked out our sky box for quite a few hours and we thought it was a goner.  My boys were ready to leave home at the prospect but luckily it is now working again. Anyway, Monday was my first day off in a long time and I was determined to get into the craft room and make some cards, despite my lack of sleep.   So without further ado here is one of the first ones I made, using my 'Twas the night pad and a cute James Bear stamp from LOTV colored with my lovely spectrum noir pens. Colours used are TN2 TN4 and TN6

I just had to add a little lace from the Ribbon girl (Laila) and a string of pearls from them too, and the greetings are from the Christmas greeting pad from LOTV too.I really did try to keep this CAS but couldn't help myself and couldn't help adding a sprinkle of Snow flakes and of course some sticklers.

Well I hope you like it and it gives you some inspiration
Please let me know what you think, I just love to read your comments, do you have trouble sticking to cas too.
Best wishes
Maria

Bear in a box

Hello to all my crafty friends,

just finished my latest card, which is for my Mother in Laws birthday.

It is a pop up box design which I made using my Ultimate pro, and the flowers and ect are cut on my die cutting machine,

Here is the back with an envelope in which to put some money
I will print off a personalised greeting and attach it in the middle.

This is a close up of the flowers, I made them using my xcut dies. The papers are from the Promises pad from LOTV and this was an ideal project for the scraps I had left.  The purple glitter card is from coordination's. and I used a weathered wood Tim Holtz distress pad to ink all my edges and tie it all together.

One thing that I like about this project is that it folds completely flat for posting, which is essential for this recipient.I shall put it in a stiff envelope with a bit of tissue for padding.

I have wanted to have a go at one of these boxes for ages and was so surprised as how easy it was to put together.  In fact the main box requires no measuring at all just a sheet of A4 and a score board.
When I get chance I will put the instructions how to do the basic box below.

Just have a go you will find it so much fun

Happy Crafting and bye for now.
