I have been waiting ages to show you my latest card, but as it's for my daughter Beth's sweet sixteenth I didn't dare post it just in case she saw it (as she follows me) on here and the surprise was ruined.
Anyhow, It was her birthday on Sunday. she now has it so I can show you what I made for her.
It's an exploding box card !!!!!!
Here is The top, James the bear from LOTV keeping up with his blog of course. Beth just loves bloging and spends hours on her laptop so this stamp fits her beautifully. I coloured him in greys to fit with the papers and paper pieced the laptop.
The box side on
I used LOTV circular sentiment stamps Dreamy Days
Just love this lace called Laila from Ribbon Girl it gave it a really vintage feel
Here it is opened up
The butterflies are from a memory box die and are on strips of acetate to make them fly out as are some of the flowers
Here are a few of the tabs in greater detail, there are tags that pull out for journalling of the day and I have left some of the leaves blank for photos.
The bear is from posy trio a set of three LOTV stamps that work so well with James |
Here he is again but this time cut out on one of the leaves. The papers are bonnets and bowties from LOTV and were free in a mag. However I have now used most of them and will just have to buy one.
Lilly of the valleys current challenge is pretty papers and as I think I have used every on on the pad I must have a go at entering it.\their paper pads fit together so well they are perfect for this kind of project.

Above is a tag, using the spelbinders romantic rectangles die below another of the posy trio stamps
On the underneath of some of the leaves I embossed the paper and inked with Tim Holtz weathered wood which I also used on the edges of the papers. I left room on the tags for her to record her wishes dreams and inspirations as well as her friends and family so that it could be a treasured memento of the day
Inside of the box I put another box which contained a silk rose hair clip for her hair and she will be able to use it to keep her secret treasures in the future
of course I had to decorate both boxes with flowers and lace, both from the Ribbon Girl naturally so am going to enter their challenge just add flowers.
