Wedding Card

Hello my fellow crafters

Just wanted to show you the first card that I have ever been commissioned to make.  I have never been asked before which is probably just as well as I hardly ever have time to make my own cards.
I decided to use a lovely stamp called I do by Lili of the Valley as the card was for a Handfasting Ceremony and I liked how the two characters were holding each others arms and that the bouquet on the floor looked a little like a decorated broom which is a part of the ceremony.

I used my Timeless victorian Pad again as I just love the way the papers fit together so well, and I coloured my image with Spectrum Noir pens to match the colours of the papers. For the base I started with a basic easel card.

I die cut a heart and embossed it then inked it with a little weathered wood distress ink from Tim Holtz. Then I added a florish from a die from Memory box and a strip of lace.

The tag was die cut around a sentiment from Bev Rochesters wonderful blog I actually Used one of her cards as my main inspiration, she is so talented. I threaded some purple cord through the tag to draw on the idea of the Hand-tying

I used the same technique on the ground that I used on the teddy bear on a previous card which involved dotting on colours light over dark to give texture.

I chose white for my spray at the corners and curled the wires for a more professional touch.  I backed them with another Memory box die cut, and added a few pearls on the tips.

I topped a lace bow with a die cut embossed heart to ballance the left side and again used a few pearls to highlight.

Bottom left I added a small bunch of flowers all in white and left the stems showing tying it together with a little white satin ribbon.
Bottom right I used a sentiment stamp from Lili of the valley stamped onto white card then inked with the weathered wood destress ink.

Then a last sprig of flowers on the base of the card

This is the box I made to hold the card again using the Timeless Victorian pad.  I penned a brief verse and printed it out to use as the central image.

Here is the finished card wrapped in tissue in its box.

Finnally I printed an insert leaving room for the giver to write a personal message ready to attach to the back of the card.

Thank you for stopping by, I would love to know what you think so please leave me a comment if you have time.  Bye for now Maria xx

Mice are nice

Hello everyone, hope you have been enjoying the sunshine today.  At last a chance to get into the garden and start potting and pruning. One person I know who loves to do this is my mother in Law Pauline so I thought this card would be just right for her as a celebration of mothers day.  She has a beautiful garden and has even won a Birmingham in bloom competion recentley so I thought she would love these helpful little mice from Lilli of the Valley and have used them as the main design on the card.

The front of the card I coloured the image using spectrum noir pens trying to keep to the colours of the paper.

The stamp is the pottting shed Mice are nice

Opened up The papers I have used are from the LOTV pad Timeless Victorian one of my favorites

I used my favourite sentiment stamps also by LOTV

Bottom left corner
Bottom Right Corner a mini bouquet

I added some flowers from Ribbon Girl and from Hobby Craft to the top right hand corner
The sentiment from the front back panel

The inside sentiment was a stamp from the do crafts range which I put through an embossing folder and then inked with a little of Tim Holtz weathered wood distress ink

It is all packed up and ready for the post tomorrow so I hope she likes it

James Daisy Card

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to show you my latest accordion card, I am so addicted to my new Karen Burniston die and just can't stop making them. This time I have used three pages and the lovely promises paper pad from LOTV.  Their James the bear stamp was my star again but this time I have colored him differently to try and make him look a bit more furry.  I like the result and hope you do too.  The technique I used came from a video tutorial from U Tube and I will post a link at the bottom in case it is of interest to you.

The back view

Reverse side of card with the center panel showing a greeting

above showing how the card works

I made a coordinating box for the card from centura pearl card using my ultimate Pro

The sentiments stack up on top of each other when it is folded flat

I used the same scroll die for the box as well as flowers and pearls

The stamps are a  sentiments set from Lilly of the valley I have stamped them on white card and cut them with a scallop circle die then inked them around the edges with Tim Holtz weathered wood distress ink.  I also used this on the rest of the edges of the papers to bring them  together. The small bears are from LOTV too and called Posy Trio. I coloured the images using my spectrum noir pens useing the technique I mentioned before.  Then I cut them out with a die using the stamping outside a circle techneque (shown on the LOTV website and mounted them on foam pads on top of increasing scalloped circles.

The flowers are from Hobbycraft and the ribbon girl online shop.  I just love the daisy. There is just enough room at the bottom of the die for a flower arrangement.
Just love how this card looks so different from every angle, it is such fun to make
A few swirls from my new memory box dies added to the theme and I used some flat back pearls to give it a little wow factor.  Thank goodness for my quickie glue pen, it is a very intricate die, but if I get any glue on the papers it drys clear.

This is the view from the back, another bow complements the card, as does the final of the three posy trio stamps  They are so sweet and easy to use.
